The old city of Jerusalem, considered one of the most beautiful cities of the ancient world, was impressive for its walls of huge golden stone blocks, its luxurious villas and palaces, and of course the Temple.

Aelia Capitolina fue construida por el emperador Adriano, sobre lo que era Jerusalén tras su destrucción. Éste también construyó un templo dedicado a Jupiter en el mismo lugar del Templo de Herodes el Grande, que conoció Cristo.

Aelia Capitolina was built by emperor Hadrian, over the ruins of Jerusalem after its destruction. He built a temple dedicated to Jupiter on the same place of the Temple of Herod the Great, which Jesus visited.
